King Cole Condo Overview

Located at 900 Bay Drive in the Normandy Isle section of North Beach (NoBe), the King Cole Condo was built in 1964 and is considered a fine example of MiMo or Miami Modern style architecture. Located in the Normandy Isles Historic District, which is the neighborhood that was recently added to the National Register of Historic Places. The architect was a protégé of Morris Lapidus, the designer of the Fontainebleau and Eden Roc.

Its classically, striking structure sits on the inter-coastal with one of largest pools in Miami Beach, a view of La Gorce Island and Allison Island to the south along with the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay to the west. It is 11 stories tall with 285 units that include studios, one and two bedroom units, penthouses and a 32 slip private marina.

After two major renovations totaling almost $8 million, several insiders believe that the King Cole will become one of the best values in Miami Beach. Two bedroom apartments have over 1,500 square feet of living space not including the balconies; one-bedroom condos have between 920 square feet and 1,135 square feet of interior living space; studios typically have about 678 square feet. Balconies on the south side of the building are exceptionally large.

Canyon Ranch and the Normandy Golf Course, an 18-hole public course, are both nearby as are the North Shore Park and Youth Center, a multi-million dollar complex with many programs for people of all ages. It includes 12 tennis courts, a couple of baseball diamonds and much more. Centrally located with both Miami and Fort Lauderdale airports 20 to 30 minutes away; South Beach 10-15 minutes away; and the Bal Harbour Shops (Mall) 10 minutes away.
