Star Island

Star Island may have been founded by the same person responsible for luxurious Fisher Island nearby but it’s the famous names that have called Star Island home at one time or another that really justify the name it was given.  Multiplatinum entertainer Madonna, film stars Sylvester Stallone and Will Smith and former talk show host Rosie O’Donnell have--or once had--a Star Island home near Miami Beach.  The community does feature a gated entrance but anyone can visit to get a glimpse of the gorgeous homes in Star Island.

Star Island is a wealthy community so most of the homes on the island are usually quite large, averaging anywhere from multiple story 15,000 square foot lots with ten bedrooms and bathrooms to slightly smaller 4,000+ square foot lots featuring six bedrooms and five bathrooms.  With the exception of the road leading into Star Island, the entire land mass is surrounded by the waters of Biscayne Bay so each Star Island home has a view of the waterfront.  A pool and a boat dock are usually standard in most of these waterfront properties.

Star Island is part of a manmade collection of islands not far from Miami Beach and the downtown Miami area.  Residents can visit Lincoln Road and Ocean Drive in the South Beach area within minutes while still maintaining a nearness to the large scale sights in downtown like the Carnival Center for the Performing Arts, the Bayside Marketplace which has a Hard Rock Café, and the American Airlines Arena.
