Indian Creek Island has a reputation as one of America's most exclusive communities with an obvious obsession with security. Indian Creek Village has a police force of 14 to protect its 32 residents (at last count) - most of who live here part-time as many residences are second homes. The village is unique among similar-sized communities in having its own State of Florida sworn police force including its own 24/7 armed boat patrol around the island. They operate the only waterborne police force available on Biscayne Bay.
Indian Creek Island, which is also referred to as Indian Creek Village has one street, Indian Creek Drive, with only 32 waterfront homes spread out over 38 waterfront lots with homes typically ranging in value from $12 million and range to over $50 million. Indian Creek Village is situated several blocks west of 91st Street and Collins Avenue (or just west of Surfside) and is also home to the ultra-exclusive Indian Creek County Club, which occupies the entire interior of the island with a few waterfront holes. In addition to being one of the oldest private club houses in South Florida, the club's golf course is widely considered to be one of Miami's finest golf courses.
